Solving the AI Hallucination Problem
Published: August 7, 2026
A core offering from Flexreport Finance is providing AI equity research for over 2,900 publicly traded companies. Like a human equity analyst, Flexreport's AI equity analyst continuously tracks a company through time, analyzing key announcements, initiatives, developments, and financial trajectory to build up a complete understanding of the company and ground its analysis. However, since LLMs are non-deterministic, it is still possible for our AI equity analysts to hallucinate and produce contradictory statements.
Solving this was Flexreport Finance's top priority. It partnered with AlphaCreek to help trace each financial figure and claim to the exact figure or passage in the source SEC filing, ensuring each claim is backed by a canonical source.
How Flexreport uses AlphaCreek
Every day, Flexreport continuously ingests new 8-Ks and 10-Qs, storing the filing, its accession number, filing date, filing URL, and the financial statement data. It then passes this data to AlphaCreek, via its MCP, which returns node IDs, titles, content, and citation URLs. These go to an LLM that returns a structured response; each claim is tied back to a node via a verbatim quote we verify against the node text, and the node ID to citation URL mapping is deterministic, so the model never emits a URL.

As a result, Flexreport Finance can produce real-time equity research at scale, with AlphaCreek serving as a critical piece of infrastructure to help ground each piece of research in truth.
